The Lepidopterists' Society of Africa (LepSoc) has decided to have a big public butterfly awareness day, that will form part of the society's annual conference weekend.

How I got Started on Butterflies

I started my adventure with butterflies around 1971 (6 years old) in Kitwe, Zambia, where I lived. I saw a large black & yellow thing glide down in front of me and was immediately taken back by it's beauty.
Metamorphosis
The society’s journal Metamorphosis publishes a variety of articles related to Afrotropical Lepidoptera, ranging from accounts of interesting field trips to contributions of a more scientific nature. There are four issues that appear quarterly.
