Conference 2010 information
The Lepidopterists' Society of Africa (LepSoc) has decided to have a big public butterfly awareness day, that will form part of the society's annual conference weekend. This will be hosted at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens over the weekend of 24-26 September 2010. The conference is open to anyone interested in butterflies, and there will be talks of both scientific nature as well as more informal ones on the Friday and the Saturday. LepSoc's AGM will be held on the Saturday morning followed by some more presentations, and then there will be the usual braai on the Saturday evening. The Sunday is the public day, where anyone that wants to find out more about butterflies can come and learn!
The detailed schedule will be made available closer to the time!
At the public day, we aim to have the following:
- Photographic Competition (click here for the rules and entry guidelines)
- Butterfly displays
- Workshops
- Guided walks
- Photography talks and workshops
- Children's Art Display
- Crafters Market
More information will be made available closer to the time. We look forward to seeing all our members, as well as a lot of new faces there!
