Hi Visitor
As part of the ADU's 20th anniversary celebration this year, the ADU is running Digital Biodiversity Week from 23–31 July 2011.
One of the ADU's main focuses is a celebration of the participation and involvement of citizen scientists in building our digital biodiversity databases, totalling some 15 million records. The objective of our "digital biodiversity week" is to give all our citizen scientists a chance to become a community with the objective of collecting and submitting as much biodiversity data as we are able during the week. The winter biodiversity week runs from Saturday 23 July to Sunday 31 July, so it includes two weekends. There will be another in early summer, which will span the actual date of the 20th anniversary. The dates for the summer digital biodiversity week are 29 October to 6 November.
For more information, please see the Editorial on the ADU's webpage: http://adu.org.za/
So get ready to photograph/observe and submit as many butterfly records as you can during this week to the SARCA and SAFAP virtual museums. Please also try and make submissions to the other virtual museums during this BIODIVERSITY week (odonata, mammals, trees, weaver birds, reptiles and frogs). For more information on these virtual museums, please visit the virtual museum website:http://vmus.adu.org.za/
We look forward to your participation!
Apologies for any cross-postings as similar emails have been sent to other ADU mailing lists.
Thank you,
The SABCA team
