Hi Visitor

Environment magazine
All full members should now be receiving this excellent quarterly magazine, of which we are an associate partner. If you haven't received a copy it's because we have either the wrong address or no address for you. You can update this by going into Edit My Profile on the site and changing your address under Additional Information. Please e-mail Dave Edge or me when you do this.
The decision to take this route was taken so we could reach a wider audience than we had been doing with Metamorphosis - Environment has a circulation of 14000. LepSoc needs members if we are going to carry on with SABCA, the Virtual Museum and develop the Custodians of Endangered Lepidoptera.
Currently we have a one-page paid-for editorial, which we will expand as and when the funds are available. But there are other options for us to publish in the magazine. We can submit articles for the following sections:
* Envirobytes - general news & updates (short snippets of no more than 150 words)
* Research Highlights - a review of cutting-edge research projects - more in-depth review over about 2 pages
* Environmental features - covering a diverse range of topics related to the theme (eg the latest issue is about Climate Change and the next issue is about Water)
* Book reviews - the latest in environmental & conservation literature
* Photo essay - a feast of beautiful photography showcasing a conservation theme (this issue we're doing trees)
* NGOs - paid for updates from the NGOs highlighting their initiatives
* Natural history - educational and informative - like research highlights - more in-depth review than envirobytes
We would really welcome it if you do this. Dave Edge had an excellent article on the Brenton Blue published in the issue immediately before our Associate Partnership started, and I put in a Photo Essay last year, so lepidoptera already have a strong presence!
Please send your copy and photos to me at steve.woodhall@sos.co.za, copy to Dave McDermott at dave@copywise.co.za. We will make whatever editorial changes are needed and submit to the magazine.
Thanks
Steve Woodhall
