This is roughly where the gaps for the Limpopo province currently lies. Unfortunately we have not been able to combine the data from LepSoc's side and the museum and other collection data from the ADU, but this should help to point you in the right direction. What's even worse is that we only have one collecting season left, so I decided to post this in any case so that those that want to start planning trips can do so. Ideally we would like to spend a year at all the localities, but seeing as that is not going to happen, I have made some recommendations on when to go where.
Oct - Dec: The southern spots and those that are situated on the escarpment I.e. the grassland habitats
Dec - Feb: Also grassland also some woodland localities between Mokopane (Potgietersrus) and Ohrigstad.
Feb - May: The area around Giyane and North of Phalaborwa.
I am hoping to go on a trip for about a week or so to Giyane and the Kruger National Park (northern areas) in March 2010. We have permits for SANParks and surveying in the Kruger is an experience of a lifetime (trust me.... I did it in March 2009 as well)!
I'll update this map as soon as we have better gap analysis available. Please contact me before you visit an area, so that I can confirm whether we have data for that spot or not.
