Since a lovely sunny warm day was predicted for Sunday July 25, we thought we would head to Het Kruis to see if we could extend the flying time records for a few species. We had a glorious time & were very successful in doing so.
We found:
King Copper (
Tylopaedia sardonyx peringuyi):
Warrior Silver-spotted Copper (
Argyraspodes argyraspis)
Donkey Daisy Copper (
Chrysorites zonarius)
Tinktinkie Blue (
Brephidium metophis)
Boeland Brown (
Melampias huebneri)
Cape Black-eye (
Leptomyrina lara)
There were lots of flowers out also:
We also spotted
Chrysoritis pan though they were scarce & not being photographically cooperative; and a lot of common stuff like Vanessa cardui, Danaus chrysippus etc.
