Acraea horta shots

Hi all

The Acraea horta eggs we found at Weza have now gone through to adults and I'm getting the first few shots.

The eggs are on the blog, but I thought I should start posting some stuff on the forum so everyone can see. Here are the second instar larvae:



And here are the fourth, and one final instar:



They pupated all over the walls of the plastic box I had them in, so I had to rig this one up:



The first specimens to emerge were weird males with reduced, radiata-type markings:





These have gone into the collection; they were very weak flyers. Then I got some nice females, which I released:
