Look here for all available permits. You need to apply for your name to be added to the permit list for a particular province or institution. Application forms can be downloaded here. Some Conservation Departments' permits (for example Cape Nature in Western Cape) cannot be used as printed copies and have to be a signed original. These will be posted on application.
Please note: if you are collecting specimens under a LepSoc permit, you must adhere to the requirements of the permit, and the LepSoc Code of Conduct.
You are only allowed to collect Lepidoptera under these permits. Should you wish to collect other life forms, for example plants, beetles, ant-lions etc, you must arrange a separate permit with the relevant Conservation Authority.
|Practical Guide to the Study of Lepidoptera in Africa||Files: 14|
In December 2015 The Lepidopterists’ Society of Africa (LepSoc Africa) is publishing a new book, Practical Guide to the Study of Lepidoptera in Africa.
Published through the LepSoc Africa website www.lepsoc.org.za, it is the essential guide for Lepidopterists whether beginners or already experienced.
This is a major update of LepSoc Africa’s 1992 book, Practical Guide to Butterflies and Moths in Southern Africa that was a great success and sold out long ago.
The book is now being published online to provide paid up LepSoc Africa members free access to a wealth of information and so that the book can be more regularly updated as new material becomes available.
