Lepsoc KZN finds new locality for Bicolored Skipper -
D'you remember my words in a recent Metamorphosis - Bicoloured Skipper Abantis bicolor will be found one day in the Hwayi/Lower Illovo area? One of the first fruits of our discovery of the potential of a combination of Google Earth, a 3G card in a laptop and a Garmin GPS... and a Subaru Forester.
This is the weekend that was scotched by bad weather in spring. So far we have Kevin and Stella Cockburn confirmed, and me. Jenny Norman is a probable. So there is room for one more lady (two single beds in one room) and if someone wants to bring a tent and camp next to the cottage they can. Please let me know as soon as you can.
We hope to get up into the high forests above Lüneburg and Groenvlei, and see lots of Kite Swallowtails and who knows what else...
Stop Press: Fran de Jager and Jenny Norman will be sharing the other room and I will sleep on the bunk bed. JP Niehaus will be bringing his family and camping out.
