Not sure exactly if we were in Gauteng, or Mpumalanga, or Limpopo!

Jeremy Dobson had found this place near Loding, and Peter Sharland kindly drove me up there with JP Niehaus and his son Matthew. I posted this thread on Photocamel:

Here are some more shots we took:



A really neat Sphingid larva, I think it is the Oriental Bee Hawk Cephonodes hylas virescens.

I got a few shots of the mating pair of Colotis subfasciatus. They were circling each other, the male rapidly quivering his wings - a real pas de deux!





And at last I got a wings open shot of Metisella willemi!
